About me

I’m Lindsay and I’m a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. I have been practising yoga since 2001 and qualified in 2009.  My first yoga class over 10 years ago, had me instantly hooked. I liked the discipline and the practice of physical postures (asanas) which tone muscles and develop stamina and flexibility. But I was also aware of feeling contentment after a class, as yoga increases concentration and consciousness, which in turn calm the mind and bring a sense of balance to both mind and body.

I regularly attend classes and workshops with senior teachers at the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga where I trained. I’m lucky to have been taught by really inspirational teachers.

I currently teach classes at the International Society, Oxford Road, in the heart of the Manchester University district. It’s a Thursday early evening class so great for stretching and unwinding after work or college, and is open to everyone.

I also teach at Total Fitness in Wilmslow (gym membership required), on Tuesday evenings.

My new class is on Monday mornings in Chorlton at St Werburgh’s Church Hall. It’s a mixed ability class and a perfect way to start the week!

The certification mark can only be held by genuine Iyengar Yoga teachers. It is a sign of excellence, clarity and a depth of understanding.
