About me

Welcome to All About The Yoga

I’m Lindsay and I teach Iyengar Yoga in Chorlton & Wilmslow.

My first yoga class almost 19 years ago had me instantly hooked. I liked the discipline and the practice of physical postures (asanas) which tone muscles and develop stamina and flexibility. But I was also aware of just feeling contented and relaxed after class. As you learn, yoga increases concentration and body awareness, bringing a sense of balance to both mind and body.

In 2007 I started a two year teacher training course to qualify as a  teacher with the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK) from the MDIIY (Manchester District Institute of Iyengar Yoga). I am currently certified as an Intermediate Junior teacher.

I attend a number of weekly classes with senior teachers in Manchester & Cheshire, as well as regular workshops and courses around the UK with international teachers to continue developing as a student & teacher. I’m lucky to have been taught by really inspirational people, many of whom have studied for many years directly with B.K.S Iyengar in India.

Yoga classes Chorlton & Wilmslow

These classes are suitable for anyone who wants to start yoga for the first time, as well as those with some experience who wish to improve their practice.

Monday mornings in Chorlton Central Church Hall, right in the centre of Chorlton – perfect way to start the week!

My Wilmslow class in St Anne’s Church Hall on Thursday evenings is suitable for beginners as well as those wanting to get back into a regular practice. Whatever week you’ve had, you’ll leave feeling stretched and balanced!

Private classes

I also teach small groups privately each week, this can be done either at your home or workplace.

Contact me if you’re interested in private yoga classes with your partner/friends.

The certification mark can only be held by genuine Iyengar Yoga teachers. It is a sign of excellence, clarity and a depth of understanding.
